Vanessa (she/her) is an Arts Editorial Director at 3 of Cups Press.
She is midway through an MA in Museum Studies at the University of Leicester and works in the Word and Image Curatorial Department at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Her job focuses on digitising prints, photographs and drawings in the Museum’s collections, as well as sitting in the internal Africa Curators’ Group.
Outside of the Museum, she spends a lot of time thinking about the relationship between art and literature, race, the diaspora and representation. In 2013, she was shortlisted for Magnum Photos’ 30 Under 30 Documentary Photographers’ prize. Her photographs have been exhibited at institutions such as the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (Denmark), Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam (FOAM) and Aperture Foundation New York as well as at the 56th Venice Biennale (2015) with the Invisible Borders Trans-African Photography collective. Later in 2017, she will be featured in an upcoming Tate Modern residency with the Thick/er Black Lines collective, focusing on the histories and futures of Black British Women Artists.
Vanessa is mostly interested in art, essays and non-fiction - pitch to her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
